Charles David Murdock, age 69 of Marceline, died at his home Monday, December 28, 2015. Charles was born in Milan, Missouri on December 7, 1946 son of Champ C. and Marjorie (Edwards) Murdock. He married Diane Jean Claypole June 7, 1969 and she survives him.
Charles was a Veteran of the United States Army and had worked at Herff Jones Yearbooks for 39 years as a pressman. He was a member of the Church of Christ and had attended Bethany Baptist Church in Marceline.
He is survived by his wife Diane, of the home in Marceline, two daughters and sons-in-law, Angie and Jamie Smith, Kearney, MO; and Jennifer and Louie Scarantino and Jordan and Madison; San Antonio, TX; grandson Cameron Smith, Kearney, sister Nancy Robinson and Jimmie, Hannibal, MO; nephew Michael Vaia Jr. and wife Julie, Hannibal, MO; great nephews Michael and Andrew Vaia, Hannibal, sister-in-law Karen and Phil Arnold, and Dane Arnold, Bucklin, MO; and Adam, Ashleigh and Remi and Adalynn Arnold, St. Joseph, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents and in-laws James R. and Jean Claypole.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Delaney Funeral Home in Marceline with visitation one hour prior to services. Burial with Military Honors will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Marceline. Memorials may be made to Hopes Kitchen in Kirksville, MO and these may be left at or mailed to Delaney Funeral Home N. Missouri Ave., Marceline, MO.
