Herman Roland, age 57, of Brookfield, died Monday, December 14, 2015, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Peters.
A memorial service will be held Friday, December 18, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home in Brookfield with Darrell Harris officiating. The family will receive friends Friday from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Herman Hayes, son of Carlton and Annie Vera (West) Roland, was born September 21, 1958 in Homer, Louisiana. On August 15, 1981, he married Ardella Glasgow.
Herman had worked for the City of Brookfield and Walsworth Publishing Company. He enjoyed all of God’s creation, hunting, fishing and most of all cooking. He loved his friends, family and especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Ardella of the home; three children, Terra Glasgow, Letitia Carter and husband, Shaun all of Brookfield, and Quentin Roland and companion, Verna Taylor of St. Joseph; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three special grandchildren and two special great-grandchildren; his mother, Annie Roland of St. Peters; three brothers, Carlton L. Roland, Jr. of St. Louis, Leo Roland of St. Peters, and Robert Roland of Atlanta, Georgia; one sister, Nadene Frost of the State of Texas; twelve brothers-in-law; eight sisters-in-law: and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
His father, Carlton Roland; and mother-in-law, Nola B. Robison preceded him in death.
