The Cater Opera House was built by Dr. W. A. Cater in 1902 and was formally opened in October.

In 1888 when Marceline, Missouri was incorporated, the first marshals were Joseph Turner and I.A. Runyon. Lucille S. Meyer

Lucille S. Meyer, 102, died peacefully, December 7, 2015, in the home of her son, Jim, and daughter-in-law, Jo Ann, in the Woodlands, Texas.

Lucille was born Aug. 18, 1913, to Everett B. Spears and Rachel Steuart in Montgomery City, Missouri.

She completed public schools there and graduated from Christian College in Columbia, Missouri.
