History and Progress of Marceline Police Department

In 1888 when Marceline, Missouri was incorporated, the first marshals were Joseph Turner and I.A. Runyon. Others who served as officers were Mike Burns, Wesley Ellis, George Ellis, Bill Conklin, Sam Parker, R.C. Freeman, Calvin Wilson. At this time the Police Department consisted of only two officers. Lucille S. Meyer

Lucille S. Meyer, 102, died peacefully, December 7, 2015, in the home of her son, Jim, and daughter-in-law, Jo Ann, in the Woodlands, Texas.

Lucille was born Aug. 18, 1913, to Everett B. Spears and Rachel Steuart in Montgomery City, Missouri.

She completed public schools there and graduated from Christian College in Columbia, Missouri.
