Victor J. Rodgers, age 88 of Wien, died Sunday, January 18, 2015 at Pioneer Skilled Nursing Center, Marceline. Victor was born in Wien, Missouri on July 30, 1926 to Michael Joseph and Elizabeth J. (Niemeier) Rodgers. He married Freda Frances Brucks on November 7, 1950 at Glasgow, Missouri and she survives him. Vic was a Veteran of the United States Army and a 1944 graduate of Bucklin High School. He worked as a marble setter in Kansas City, was a private pilot, a member of the American Legion, 60 year member of BAC Local in KCMO, and a member of the St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church in Wien. He is survived by his wife Freda Rodgers of the home, two daughters, Patti White and Greg, Marceline and Vicki Rodgers, Wien, two brothers, Floyd and Deloris Rodgers, and Milan and Lois Rodgers, one sister Ilah Mae and Chuck Brehm, and sister-in-law Shirley Rodgers, all of Wien, four grandchildren, Karly White and Mallory White, Kansas City, MO and Dan Joe White and Lane White both of Marceline, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Lester. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at the St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church in Wien. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Wien. Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM Tuesday, January 20, 2015 with rosary and vigil service at 7:30 PM at the church in Wien.
